    The Yale Bowl, which opened in November 1914, is a truly spectacular football stadium: 930 feet long, 750 feet wide, covering 12 1/2 acres. It has a seating capacity of over 70,000, with every seat having an unobstructed view of the field.

Approval Process

Yale will consider requests to shoot commercial films or photography, provided that all requirements of the Film and Photography Guidelines are met, and the project does not interfere with the educational mission of the University.  Production companies must work directly with Yale’s Marketing and Trademark Licensing Office and their work is subject to fees.

Application

The filming or photography production company is required to fill out an application at least 1 month prior to the requested on campus date. Please be specific as possible on the application and return with film script (if applicable) to the Marketing and Trademark Office.

Departmental Fiming and Photography Requets

Yale departments planning a filming or photography project on campus for the purposes of creating material for their department must follow the same guidelines as external organizations. This includes having the production company they intend to work with submit an application at least 1 month before the requested shoot date.

Review

The application and any accompanying information will be reviewed by Yale’s Department of Marketing & Trademark Licensing , Yale Office of General Council, and Yale Risk Management and will be approved or denied within 10 business days.
